Congratulations to Jonah Medina, a Cimarron 7th grader, for winning the OERB Oil Well Site Safety poster contest for the Oklahoma State Junior High/High School division. Out of almost 200 entries for his division, Jonah won 1st place and was recognized at the Oklahoma State Capitol for his work. He was sponsored by his Social Studies teacher, Mr. Dwight Justus.

7th grade students from all six Edmond middle schools represented their top inventions today and the District invention convention. Cimarron students Elena Gustin, Payton Whyte, Rory Daniels, Jude Lowery, Connor Lewis, and Julian Self all showcased their unique and innovative ideas. 1st place winner, Connor Lewis won the district competition with his King Cast invention and Julian Self won the “Inventor’s Choice” award for the Spider Saver.

Congratulations to sixth grader Ruthie Anaman, seventh grader Tinley Truong, and eighth grader Grace Gilliland! They are the winners of the Cimarron Bookmark Design Contest. Students were asked to design a bookmark based on their love of reading or their favorite book. Ruthie, Tinley, and Grace's bookmarks will soon be available in the media center for students and staff to use! Way to go, Panthers!

Because of continued isolated icy roads in parts of our district as well as slick and dangerous parking lots and sidewalks, Edmond Public Schools will move to remote learning for all schools for Thursday, February 13th.
Students should refer to information sent by their school site for assignments that will need to be completed for attendance to be counted.

Because of an increasing number of student and staff absences this week, we have made the difficult decision to close school for all Edmond Public Schools for tomorrow, Friday, January 31st. Extracurricular activities will continue as scheduled.
This decision was made in advance to give our families and staff members time to prepare. We will let you know as soon as possible how this instructional time will be made up.
